DANIEL EXPLAINED The Endtime Key of Knowledge ------------------------------------------------------- Before you start to study the next prophecies given in the Book of Daniel, you will need to look at some basic things: 1 day = 1 year 1 week of years = 7 years 1 threescore = (60 x 7) 420 years 1 time = 700 years ------------------------------------------------------- The Prophecy of Daniel "Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself..." (emphasis added) (Daniel 9:24-26(KJ) Most Christiandom students of the Scriptures are very familiar with Daniel's Seventy Weeks Prophecy (Daniel 9:24-27). Books have been written on these four verses, and man's traditional interpretation has been handed down as Biblical "truth". But, is this correct? Is this right? ------------------------------------------------------- 70 Weeks Completed What we should take as a beginning to the correct analysis is to understand, that in Daniel's view, those weeks represented years, so the 70 weeks of Daniel represent 490 years -70 times 7 years- that ended with the death of Jesus the Christ: The outline of this 490 years is as follows: THE BIBLICAL TEXT: "Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy." Daniel 8:24 THE ANALYSIS: The dispersed Jews became a people and city when they first returned to Israel from captivity.. There were not one but two returns from captivity, Zerubbabel's and Ezra's; in Zerubbabel's they had only the commission to build the Temple, while in Ezra's they first became a city by a government of their own. Now the years of this Artaxerxes...was in the year that for the Persians counted from 457 to 458 B.C. -as stated in The Enciclopedia Britanica. Count the time from such date to the Crucifixion in Golgota, and you will find it to be just 490 years. So, here we see that the 70 weeks of Daniel were completed with the death by crucifixion of Jesus around the year 33 A.D. This prophecy of the Messiah relates to both comings (two returns from captivity), and assigns the times thereof. This prophecy, like all the rest of Daniel's consists of two parts, an introductory prophecy and an explanation thereof. THE BIBLICAL TEXT: "Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to cause to return and to build Jerusalem, unto the Anointed the Prince, shall be seven weeks. THE ANALYSIS: The former part of the Prophecy relates to the first coming of Christ -The Messiah (annointed in Hebrew)-, being dated to his coming as a Prophet; this being dated to his coming to be Prince or King, is related to His Second Coming. There, the Prophet was consummated, and the most holy anointed: here, he that was anointed comes to be Prince and to reign. Because Daniel's Prophecies extents up to the end of the world; and there is scarce a Prophecy in the Old Testament concerning Christ, which does not in one way or another relate to His Second Coming. The Israelites, in the days of the ancient Prophets, when the ten Tribes were led into captivity, expected a double return; and that at first the Jews should build a new temple inferior to Solomon's, until the time of that age should be fulfilled; and afterwards they should return from all places of their captivity, and build Jerusalem and the temple gloriously, Tobit 14:4,5,6: and to express the glory and excellence of this city, it is figuratively said to be built of precious stones, Tobit 13:16,17,18; Isa. 54:11,12; Rev. 11, and called the New Jerusalem, the Heavenly Jerusalem, the Holy City, the Lamb's wife, the City of the Great King, the City into which the Kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor. Now while such a return from captivity was the expectation of Israel, even before the times of Daniel, Daniel for some reason OMITS it in his Prophecy. Let's point that as the seventy and the sixty two weeks were Jewish weeks, ending with sabbatical years, so the seven weeks are the compass of a Jubilee, and begin and end with actions proper for a Jubilee, and of the highest nature for which a Jubilee can be kept: and that since the commandment to return and to build Jerusalem precedes the Messiah the Prince 49 years it may perhaps come forth not from the Jews themselves, but from some other kingdom friendly to them, and precede their return from captivity, and give occasion to it. And lastly, that this rebuilding of Jerusalem and the waste places of Judah is predicted in Micah 7:11; Amos 9:11,14; Ezk. 36:33,35,36,38; Isa. 54:3,11,12; 55:12; 61:4; 65:18,21,22; and Tobit 14:5, and that the return from captivity and coming of the Messiah and his kingdom are described in Daniel 7; Rev. 19; Acts 1; Mt. 24; Joel 3; Ezek. 36, 37; Isa. 60,62,63,65, and 66, and many other places of Scripture. We know now that this already has happened, starting from September 1st of 1866 and continuing with the proclamation of the state of Israel in May, 1948 and two years later, the proclamation of the city of Jerusalem as the capital of the Israel and as the Seat of the Knesset (Ha'Kirya). THE BIBLICAL TEXT: "And threescore and two weeks:the streets shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times". Daniel 9:25 "And after the threescore and two weeks, the Messiah shall be cut off, and it shall not for himself; and the people of the Prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary, etc." Daniel 9:26 THE ANALYSIS: Having foretold both comings of Christ, and dated the last from their returning and building Jerusalem; to prevent the applying that to the building Jerusalem by Nehemiah, he distinguishes this from that, by saying that from this period to the Anointed shall be, not seven WEEKS, but threescore and two weeks, and this not in prosperous but in troublesome times; and at the end of these weeks the Messiah shall not be the Prince of the Jews, but be cut off; and Jerusalem not be His, but the city and sanctuary be destroyed. Now Nehemiah came to Jerusalem in the 20th year of this same Artaxerxes, while Ezra still continued there, Neh. 12:3,6, and found the city lying waste, and the houses and wall unbuilt, Neh. 2:17; 7:4, and finished the wall the 25th day of the month Elul, Neh. 6:15, in the 8th year of the King, that is, in September in the year (437 - 436 BC). Count now from this year threescore and two weeks of years, that is 434 years, and the reckoning will end in September in the year of (3 - 2 BC) which is the year in which Jesus, the Christ, was born. Thus have we in this short prophecy, a prediction of all the main periods relating to the First Coming of the Messiah -in the flesh-; the time of his birth and the time of His Second Coming as Spirit: and so the interpretation here given is more full and complete and adequate to the design, than if we should restrain it to His First Coming only, as Christian scholars and interpreters usually do. We must avoid violating Daniel's language by taking, the two numbers, the seven weeks and sixty two weeks for one number. Had that been Daniel's meaning, he would have said sixty and nine weeks, and not seven weeks and sixty two weeks, a way of numbering used by no nation. In our way the years are Jewish Luni-solar years, as they ought to be; and the seventy weeks of years are Jewish weeks ending with sabbatical years, which is very remarkable. Others either count by Lunar years, or by weeks which it is not Judaic: and, which is even worse they ground their interpretations on erroneous chronology" Daniel's prediction that Israel would be restored in the last days is correct and we all know that this occurred in January 23rd, 1950. From there he actually predicted the year that the spiritual presence of the Christ will be perceived by Humanity and therefore, accomplishing His Return, not as a man but as Spirit. Tradition has added the 7 weeks to the 62 weeks to arrive at the "69 weeks of Daniel". This is faulty reasoning and it is wrong and deceitful. We can clearly see now that from the "going forth of the commandment to cause to return and to build Jerusalem, unto the Anointed the Prince" there were seven metaphoric weeks. Seven weeks of years is equal to 49 years. How do these 49 years should be understood? ------------------------------------------------------- The Return of Israel and the End of Times Students of Bible Prophecy are well aware that the nation of Israel is one of the most vital keys to THE END OF TIMES events. Jesus told us that the generation to witness the re-birth of Israel would also witness His return (Matthew 24:32-34).This happened as the Divine Master said. BIBLICAL TEXT: "how long shall it be to the end of these wonders... ...it shall be for a time, times and a half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these shall be finished" Daniel 12:6,7 ANALYSYS: Following Daniel's count in which he used the figure of "week of years", we can assume that "time" is a week of centuries; therefore, one time equals seven centuries and so forth. This is the time to be counted starting from the beginning of the prophecy, which was in the third year of Cyrus, king of Persia (556 BC), until humanity reaches the end of times. If we extract time, times and and a half to 556 (700+1400+350=2450) then we have: 2450-556=1894 that aligns with the stage of the communications of the Holy Spirit in Mexico, at the dawning of the Third Era. Israel formally declared her independence on May 14, 1948. Many of us are very familiar with this date for the return of the Jewish people back into their land; however, this may not be the correct date for the start of the last 7 weeks of years (49 years). Please, take notice of the exact wording of Daniel's prophecy: BIBLICAL TEXT: "Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build JERUSALEM unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks..." (Daniel 9:25) Did you notice it? In the above verse, the Prophet Daniel is giving us a clue talking about Jerusalem! Biblical scholars completely missed this before. As a result, they had incorrectly been using May 14, 1948, as the start of the 49 year period. Why? Because on January 23rd of 1950, Jerusalem was proclaimed as the capital and the Seat of the Knesset. Thereore, the 49 years ended on January 23rd of 1999! The Proclamation was issued on January 23, 1950, and the 49 years period is now over. To confirm this, let put somethings together so we can have a more precise picture in our minds of the extraordinary events that points to one single event: The Spiritual Return of the Lord. "And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars.....And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth near." (Luke 21:25 & 28) Now, read this: On January 23, 1999, exactly 49 years before the proclamation of Jerusalem as the capital of the restaured Israel, astronomers discovered a big flash brighter than all of the rest of the Universe put together. Scientists recorded the biggest explosion ever to occur in the heavens in what is known as a Gamma Ray Burst. This burst lasted approximately 40 seconds, yet it turned out to be the brightest object ever detected. It was a burst of energy equal to "BILLIONS OF YEARS OF LIGHT FROM THOUSANDS OF SUNS." Known as GRB 990123, it released 10,000 times more energy than the Sun could emit over a 5 billion year period or 10 to the power of 47 joules - a million billion billion billion times as great as that released at Hiroshima by the atomic bomb. The fact that it also coincides with the 49 year period of Daniel's prophecy is beyond the realm of mere chance. If you wish, you can check the data in these science websites: http://astro.caltech.edu/~george/grb/grb990123.pr http://www.iac.es/gabinete/inves/result/98/isinproy.htm http://hubble.stsci.edu/sci.d.tech/discoveries/10th/views/portfolio/slide35.shtml Why, then, this important sign hasn't been noticed by the great religions and the powerful spiritual leaders of mankind? Because, as the Scripture warns, God's word is to those who have ears to listen, and signs in the stars are telling us the time of redemption has come. Amazingly, this Gamma Ray Burst occurred in the Constellation of Bootes, which in Greek Mythology is pictured as a man walking rapidly, with a spear in his right hand and a sickle in his left hand. The Greeks called him Bo-o-tes, which is from the Hebrew root BO (to come), meaning 'THE COMING'. The recent Gamma Ray Burst took place right at the Tip of the Spear in the hand of Bootes, the Coming Judge. The heavens declare that Judgement Day is here. And what should we understand as Judgement Day? Well, let's take a look on the words of the Father as written in The Third Testament: "16. This is the great day and it is not composed of twenty-four hours, because the day of judgement you do not know how long it will be prolonged; you do not know when it will terminate, but you are truly in the culmination of these times, and you are living under the judgement of the Lord." From Teaching 366. Furthermore, there is the main event that marked us the fulfillment of Daniel's prophecy: In January 23rd of 1999, begun the global diffusion of the Third Testament thru the 144000.net website, beeing the mere existence of the Internet a wonderful sign by itself. Are we sure? Just read the following: "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the the words, and seal the book to the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased". "Running to and fro?" Email? Air travel between countries in one and the other end of the world? "Knowledge Shall be Increased"? The spectacular advance of techonology? The Internet? ------------------------------------------------------- CONFIRMATION OF THE COVENANT The meaning of Daniel's One Week "Yet shall he confirm the covenant with many for one week." (Daniel 9:27) Take note of the words of Jesus in the Last Supper: "And He said unto them, this is my blood of the new testament (covenant), which is shed for many." (Mark 14:24) As foretold by Daniel, Jesus the Christ kept the covenant, not withstanding his death, till the rejection of the Jews, and calling of Cornelius and the Gentiles in the seventh year after His passion. Did Jesus confirm His covenant of love and mercy with Daniel's people for 7 years? There was a 7 year PERIOD between the death of Christ and the time the Gospel was sent out to the Gentiles at the calling of Cornelius. This is the fulfillment of Daniel's prophecy. ------------------------------------------------------- The meaning of Daniel's Half a Week "And in half a week he shall cause the sacrifice and oblation to cease;" Which sacrifice and oblation will the Messiah cause to cease? Those of the traditions and rituals carried on in Jerusalem's Second Temple. And the CEASING OF all RIGHTS, when, by the war of the Romans upon the Jews the Temple of Jerusalem was destroyed, which war, after some commotions, began in the 13th year of Nero, A.D. 67, in the Spring when Vespasian with an army invaded them; and ended in the second year of Vespasian, A.D.70 in autumn, September 7, when Titus took the city, having burnt the Temple 27 days before; so that it lasted three years and an half! Daniel's prophecy mentions a 3 1/2 year period (the half week of years) after which Temple sacrifices would cease. ------------------------------------------------------- EPILOGUE The Chosen (the 144000) Will Understand "Go your way Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end....none of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand." (Daniel 12:9-10) This is the time of the end and only those with a clean heart and a open mind shall understand. "After TWO DAYS he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence" (Hosea 6:2). This is the Third Era, the third day which Hosea mentions in his prophecy.
