This is when we need to unite spiritually more than ever so that through example, prayer, good will and teachings, we are able to counter the darkness in the world giving our young ones the weapons that they need to strengthen their spirits in their fight against evil. ____________________________________________________________ 互户互户互猾せカせЙせカせЙせカせЙせカせЙせカ  - Let's talk about will. It has become a common saying that "the leaf on the tree does not move without the will of God", and basing ourselves on this, we often use it as a pretext to excuse our errors, making God responsible for whatever happens to us. This is also how heads of state of powerful countries and leaders of religions and creeds of millions of beings on the planet, shield themselves behind divine will to justify atrocities and pain which they leave behind their path. Although it is indeed true that the leaf on a tree does not move without the will of God, it is also true that this refers to the destiny of nature, that in spite of being God's creation that grows, manifests itself, evolves and learns, to the difference of the incarnated spirit in man, it is not gifted with free will that allows it to act on its own account, but it has to obey Divine Laws On the other hand, the human being has been gifted with a power to decide, which allows him to even cause his own misery. Our Father says: "You say that nothing happens without the will of God, so as to excuse yourselves from your errors; but in truth I say to you, that you are wrong, because your errors, your slightest actions, do happen without the will of God. Behold how the Almighty never imposes Himself through force upon you because of His power. That is what you do with your brethren who are weaker". T:248:30 Will is the faculty that rational beings have to govern their acts consciously, and through it, man can make of his world a paradise or an inferno. The day that we accomplish to unite our will with our Father's, all that we have wished for the good of our brethren and ourselves will be granted to us. It is exactly from there that the divine authority emanated from the Divine Master because His will was one and the same as God's. "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven". Matthew 7:21 Our world will be a new one when good will exists among us, mutual respect and fraternity; that is the secret to reach peace because upon realizing our Father's will, we will be applying the Law and His Doctrine to our lives. "When will men dream of attaining perfection for their spirit? Today they do not even have peace, because goodwill does not exist among them. The light of Heaven will begin to reflect itself in this world when this good disposition emerges in man by channeling their course along the road of fraternity, of mutual respect, and of love for one another". T 64:25 It is important that we teach our children from their early years to grow making use of good will because this will teach them to be conformed with what our Father gives them. If we cultivate their hearts with examples of love, tomorrow we will hear them speak of the grandeur of the Holy Spirit. That is how the good heads of state and ministers will come to our world, the men of good will that will change the destiny of all people. "Love not the world, the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof; but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever". 1 John 2:15-17 I ask myself: Don't you think that all the errors that we have committed due to the bad use of our will have been enough? Don't you think that it is time that we forget about pride and that we finally realize that we can't know more than God as to what is convenient for us? We should truly put into practice that perfect prayer that our Divine Teacher has taught us in the Second Era, upon practicing his example we will then allow "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven". ____________________________________________________________ 互户互户互猾せカせЙせカせЙせカせЙせカせЙせカ  - Vice and drug addiction: The spark that illuminated the eyes of many children today has vanished, and we see more often, waves of youth who yield to the seduction of drugs, alcohol and vices. This is not new, it is history that is lost in time's annals, and today the news knocks on our doors regularly that young ones have taken the wrong path trying to forget their problems, and evading reality with the stupefying of their senses, instead of finding a real and lasting solution. We all know that the cause of these problems that the youth is facing around the world are the lack of love, insecurity, lack of communication within the family, loneliness, abandonment, fear, lack of faith; to all of which we have contributed with our lack of spirituality. "I am speaking to the heart of man, exhorting him toward regeneration, making him understand the damage to the body caused by the vices, and the harm that befalls the spirit. I have said to you that a man who allows himself to be dominated by a vice, has forgotten that the spirit must never be defeated; he has forgotten that the true fortitude consists of destroying evil with virtue". T 312:33 It is not by locking up our children in crystal bubbles where nothing can touch them that we can avoid for temptations and vices to reach them, nor by hiding from their eyes the darkness, which is present in the world. The way to help them not to fall in all that is hazardous to their bodies and spirits is through knowledge of the Divine Teachings, through development of virtues and gifts. It is there that our youth can find the weapons that give them strength and self esteem. But remember that there is no better way to teach than through example. "Combat the superfluous, fight against the impurity. You must be aware that the vices of the world hinder the senses of the spirit, preventing him from penetrating into the most elevated mansions. If you learn to live the true life, I say to you, that wherever you are or wherever you go, with your presence, you shall convert everything into a paradise of peace. T 272:66 It is important that it is not enough not to do bad, but we must do good; it is not enough to say; "we don't have any vices", but we should help those who have them. Our duty as workers of the Lord is to guide those who have lost their bearings, it is to help them understand that no matter how deep they have fallen, the love of God will always be greater than their weakness to lift them. We should not talk tot hem about their defects, but of their virtues. If we can accomplish to aid them in obtaining spirituality in their lives, we shall give them courage and strength needed so that they do not fall into an abysm. ____________________________________________________________ 互户互户互猾せカせЙせカせЙせカせЙせカせЙせカ  - How to understand Fasting Today, we dedicate this space to talk briefly about a passage in the life of the Divine Master, which as many other passages, has been understood by the writing, and not by the spiritual content that it contains. "And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. And when the tempter came to him, he said: If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and say: It is written: Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God". Matthew 4:2-4; Luke 4:1-4 The symbol of fasting, taking it in a spiritual concept does not signify that we have to punish our bodies with the lack of material food, or that it is good for us to submit our flesh to different types of physical torture to allow us to be close to God; if it was as such, what would merit heaven is our matter and not our spirits, since the former would be one exposed to the sacrifice or punishment. What the Divine Master was referring to in this lesson, is that we should get away from all that which may be hazardous to our spirit, all those acts which could be linked to evil and to the lack of compliance of the divine laws; that is the food that we should avoid. It is about learning to dominate our matter or flesh, parting it from all of those low passions that could convert into a chain which could prevent us from reaching an elevated level, or prevent us from our spiritual compliance. Hatred, lies, the lack of charity and love towards our brethren, our bad thoughts, are all examples of that food which is hazardous to our spirits. We should fight against them all of our lives, not only one day of our lives, or during a given season of the year, but every single day in our lives, which is precisely symbolized by forty days and nights. "It is such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? Wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the lord? Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? When thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? Isaiah 58:5-7 "Not only does man live of bread, but by all word that comes from God" Besides giving our body all the food that corresponds to it, we should give our spirit all the food that it needs to develop and to live healthy; that is to say, the Divine Word, and all of those acts of love that give health and life to the spirit. Elijah, the spiritual pastor oh humanity says: "I, your pastor, want happiness for you, and for that reason I ask that you bend your matter, not with fasting or material mortifications, but with humility and meekness, so that your spirit goes towards perfection and light, and then, grace and strength will be upon your spirit and upon your matter and thereafter by addition." The Forerunner T 12:27 We must make sure that our brothers understand that they do not need to lacerate their bodies or mortify them to move God or to obtain His love or compassion, that is ours from the instant that we sprout from Him; Moreover, like our Father has told us in His Teachings Even before us sprouting from His bosom, He already loved us. "Do not do any material fasting nor sterile sacrifices to please Me; do not do anything that does not pertain to the worship which you should render to your Father". "Offer Me your spirit and the beating of your heart which is your life, and if you wish to fast, move away from your spirit and body the superfluous and the unnecessary things. Turn away from all low passions and every sin. This sacrifice I shall receive because it is for your benefit as well as for the future generations". "If you wish to make Me an offering, present to Me your merits of patience, of forgiveness, of the love for one another, of your dominion over your passions, as well as that of spirituality; that shall be the offering which will reach My Divine Spirit". T 234:60-62 All quotes other than the biblical ones, are taken from The Third Testament. ____________________________________________________________ 互户互户互猾せカせЙせカせЙせカせЙせカせЙせカ  - Last Word Dearly Beloved: God loves us in spite of our smallness and doubts, in spite of our lack of spiritual elevation and love for our brethren. We shall always be His children. This is a right that we can never lose; though we may know to be His children, as long as we do not put into practice His examples of love in our lives, we cannot call ourselves His disciples because he that does not do God's will does not love or imitate Him.
